Two of my first jobs, as a cashier at Food Lion and a sales associate at American Eagle, sparked my love for connecting with people and meeting their needs. Growing up in a military family, I moved often from Missouri to Washington to North Carolina, constantly adapting and building new relationships. That experience shaped my personality and interest in helping others.
My upbringing taught me discipline and the importance of balancing fiscal responsibility with enjoying life’s experiences. There are lessons I now share with my clients.
My experiences, both personal and professional, guide my approach to helping others live fully while planning wisely for the future.
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional committed to helping clients navigate the important financial decisions that arise throughout life. I work closely with clients to develop and manage financial plans and investment strategies that align with their goals, providing guidance and clarity on questions such as saving for retirement, funding education, protecting assets, and planning for major life events. My focus is on helping clients make informed choices, invest wisely, and feel confident that their financial future is on track.
I am a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute (Formerly IMCA®); member of the Leadership Overland Park Program – Class of 2020; and a former member of the Business League of Kansas City.
I’m an avid sports fan – whether I’m cheering on my Kansas Jayhawks in basketball and football, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, or catching a Formula One race. When I’m on the tennis court, I like to think I’m reliving my high school glory days, though the scoreboard doesn’t always agree. I enjoy exploring new destinations around the world, discovering great food along the way, and spending quality time with my wife, Ellen, and our golden retriever, Clark. These passions keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of living a life that’s both well-planned and well-enjoyed – the same balance I strive to help my clients achieve.
I have been an active participant in a variety of charitable and civic activities in the Kansas City metro area. I previously served as the Sponsorship Chair for the Bacchus Foundation, helping raise funds for different charities each year. I served on the Advisory Board for Geeks for Kids, an organization that builds and donates custom electric power wheels to children with mobility disabilities. I also was a member of the Waldo Brookside Rotary Club.
During my time at KU, I was deeply involved in Theta Chi Fraternity, holding roles such as Recruitment Chairman and Marshal. I also participated in Rock Chalk Revue, a student-led philanthropy that raised significant funds for local charities.
